This past week, Yahoo’s new CEO Marissa Mayer declared that if you’re going to work for Yahoo, you’re going to be in the office. To sort through the pros and cons of this decision, we invited John Sullivan, a professor of management at San Francisco State University who runs a human resource advisory firm and was quoted in this week’s NYT article about Marissa Mayer’s decree. He says studies show that people who work at home are significantly more productive but less innovative.
